Blossom Du Jour

This project presents the translation from English to Spanish of Blossom du Jour’s website, a vegan restaurant has four locations in New York City.

The translation of the site was the basis of my Master's Degree thesis. For the sake of my thesis, the restaurant wishes to have their website localized for their clients in the city of Valencia, Spain, where they plan to open four more locations.

The restaurant’s website not only shows where they are located, their menu and their opening hours, but it also seeks to raise awareness regarding respect towards animals and the rescue efforts of different organizations around the world who want to give a second chance and a peaceful life to animals that have been exploited and mistreated by humans.

Home page

The main page shows the logo and a button that allows the client to order their favorite dishes online. Under the logo, there's the main menu and the restaurant's advertisement video. Below the video, there are some links wrapped in colorful backgrounds where the client can order online, check out their sister restaurant's website (in this case, the restaurant was changed for one that already exists in Valencia) or follow them on Instagram. The footer shows the four (fictional) locations and Blossom du Jour's sister restaurant in Valencia, their social media links, and gives the customer the possibility to register to Blossom du Jour's newsletter and receive the latest news from the restaurant.

Menu page

This page contains a submenu (not visible) that gives the client the option to download the menu in PDF and allows the customer to see which organization is being supported when they eat at the restaurant. All the dishes' names were left in English, with the exception of some side dishes. However, the categorization and the list of the ingredients - together with the glossary at the bottom of the page - allow the client to know what the dish is about.

Active menu page

The purpose of this page is to raise awareness and connect Blossom du Jour's clients with amazing people and organizations over the world that are improving the world for animals. They show a list of organizations in the US, Europe, and Latin America that are supported by the restaurant thanks to the people that choose to eat at the restaurant. Also, each sanctuary is described in detail and their website and social media links are presented in case the customers want to learn more about them.

Resources page

This section contains information for those interested in veganism and cruelty-free living. The first part of this page shows a couple of sanctuaries such as Farm Sanctuary. The second section has some links to other resources (the links could have been adapted to those specific to Spain) and books they recommend to dive into the subject (the books that didn't have a Spanish version were replaced). Lastly, Blossom du Jour's resources page has a subsection for those that want to work with them and provides their contact information.

Contact page

This page contains information about the Blossom du Jour's four locations (the maps and addresses were changed to random locations in Valencia, Spain) and contains other useful links for the client. It also includes information regarding the restaurant's gift cards.
